My Journaling Workshop!

As you all know by now, I am hosting a 2-hour journaling workshop at Barn Wellness Center on October 25th from 7-9pm. So by now you may also be wondering 'Why should I journal?'

A FEW REASONS:

- to remember and tell our stories - to understand ourselves and our emotions - to slow down - to clear our minds and focus - to disconnect from technology - to dream or imagine the future - to improve mood, reduce stress, and strengthen memory

In this workshop we'll be utilizing my journaling workbook to help you deepen the relationship with yourself and improve your overall health.

My big goal is for participants to use writing for self-discovery and personal growth. Often people may want to journal, but they don’t know what to write or how it could be used for personal growth. Or, they find themselves thinking they don't have anything meaningful to say. Together, we’ll go through different writing exercises that will help us find the overlooked stories in our daily lives and make connections. I’m hoping these exercises will help enrich your daily journaling practice and help you feel more empowered.

The second goal is to help people build a habit of consistent writing. I recommend anyone who participates be ready to commit to around 20 minutes, if not more, every day for themselves (some days you'll have more to write than others). Of course if you miss a day or two, no one is looking, but as with anything in life, you get what you give.

But the best part of this workshop is that we’ll be writing in a community: sitting with others who are also exploring their inner landscape, sharing stories, and supporting each other. A journaling practice - particularly one that requires introspection - can be intimidating. But with the support of a community we can feel a little less alone. Of course you are free to keep anything sensitive to yourself, but part of this workshop (and the private facebook group) is sharing since there's value in learning from each other’s words.

I hope you consider joining us October 25th. Sign up at www.thebarnwellness.com/events . I will bring extra journals and pens, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing your own. After all, if you love the materials you use, you're more likely to do the thing ;) .
